More than a traditional memorial service, this gathering is being designed as a true Celebration of Life that reflects the many communities, friendships, and accomplishments that defined Mert’s remarkable journey.

Friends, family, racers, riders, builders, artists, filmmakers, and fans from across the motorcycle, bicycle, racing, and adaptive riding worlds will come together to honor Mert through storytelling, historical displays, vintage motorcycles, bicycles, special guests, film, and personal memories.

The event will feature moderated guest speaker panels with many of the people who knew and worked alongside Mert throughout his life and career, along with a special tribute film presentation by filmmaker.

In addition to the formal program, the event will also include the inaugural:

“Mert Lawwill Vintage Dirt Track Concours”

The Concours will feature a curated display of vintage dirt track motorcycles representing the era and culture that helped shape Mert’s racing career and legacy.

The goal of this event is not only to remember Mert’s accomplishments as a racer, innovator, and designer, but also to celebrate the friendships, creativity, humor, generosity, and humanitarian work that made him so meaningful to so many people.
